In this one precious life, our moments together are too short
I grew up in the era of Olan Mills school photos and in a camera-shy family. I don’t have a ton of family photos from my childhood, but I treasure the ones I do have. Just as much, I treasure the black and white ones from my grandparents’ and great-grandparents’ collections. They serve as conversation pieces and ways to learn about their lives long ago — little pieces of history I would never know if those photos didn’t exist.
The everyday is extraordinary
I grew up in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and I’ve traveled around the world, falling in love with the wild places out there. From the jungles of Costa Rica to the glaciers of New Zealand, I’ve lugged my camera. I’ve taken it when it was hard, inconvenient, and impractical. But it’s made me a better photographer. I’ve photographed weddings, senior photos, anniversary celebrations, and lots of family photos for Christmas cards. And each of them are as beautiful as any of those far-flung places I’ve taken my camera. I live for the feeling of delivering a gallery that my clients love.
